Data deletion
If you messaged a business on WhatsApp
The business you wrote to controls your conversation. You can ask it directly to delete your data, and it can instruct us. You can also ask us yourself:
- Email with the subject "Data deletion request", from any address, and include the WhatsApp phone number you messaged from and, if you know it, the name of the business.
- We confirm receipt within 3 business days and verify the request with a short message to that WhatsApp number, so nobody can delete someone else's data.
- We delete your messages, conversation record, profile details and any appointment record held in Nex-XL within 30 days, inform the business, and confirm to you by email.
If you messaged a business on Facebook Messenger
If the business's Facebook Page is connected to Nex-XL, the business controls your conversation, as it does on WhatsApp. You can ask the business directly, or ask us:
- Email with the subject "Data deletion request", from any address, and include the name of the Facebook Page you wrote to and the name on your Facebook profile.
- We confirm receipt within 3 business days and verify the request with the business that owns the Page, so nobody can delete someone else's data.
- We delete your messages, photos, voice notes, conversation record and profile details held in Nex-XL for that Page within 30 days, inform the business, and confirm to you by email.
Disconnecting a Page stops Nex-XL from receiving and sending messages for it. The business can disconnect its Page at any time from Nex-XL, and we do so when a business asks us to delete its account.
If you are a business client
- Email from the email address on your Nex-XL account with the subject "Delete our account".
- We confirm receipt within 3 business days and give you 14 days to export anything you need.
- We then disconnect your WhatsApp number, your Facebook Page (if you connected one) and Google Calendar, delete your users, business knowledge, conversations, messages, booking records and stored credentials within 30 days, and confirm by email.
You can disconnect your Google Calendar yourself at any time from the Nex-XL admin page or from myaccount.google.com/permissions; this revokes and deletes the stored token immediately.
You can disconnect your Facebook Page yourself at any time from the Team page in Nex-XL. This removes the stored Page token; a short-lived encrypted copy is kept only to ask Facebook to stop sending the Page's messages, and is deleted when that finishes and in any case within 48 hours.
What deletion covers, and what it does not
- Deleted from Nex-XL: messages, photos, voice notes, conversation records, customer profile details, appointment records, business knowledge, credentials and tokens.
- Outside Nex-XL: the chat history on your own phone and on the business's phone, the conversation in Facebook Messenger and in the Page's Facebook inbox (held by Meta), and events already in the business's Google Calendar, are held by you, the business and those services, not by us.
- Retained: aggregate usage counts without message content, and records we are legally required to keep, for the period the law requires.
